Qualifications
and Requirements:
1. The
contract appointment will be for a period of one year.
2.
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor's degree and, preferably, a master's
degree in law.
3. A minimum
of 15 years of experience in the practice of law is required, along with a
valid license from the Honourable High Court.
4. During
the contract period, the selected candidate will not be allowed to practice law
independently.
5. Primary
responsibilities of the Law Officer include, but are not limited to:
- a) Representing the Finance Department in
various higher and lower courts, ensuring the government's and department's
interests are vigorously advocated for.
- b) Drafting, reviewing, and filing legal
documents such as comments, petitions, motions, and appeals, ensuring
compliance with legal regulations.
- c) Collaborating with internal
stakeholders, including Finance Department officers and legal advisors, to
gather information and evidence required for court proceedings.
6.
Government employees are required to apply through the appropriate channels as
per established rules.
7. The
eligibility of applicants will be determined based on the last day of the
advertisement.
8. The
department reserves the right to not fill the advertised position without
providing a reason.
9. No Travel
Allowance (TA) or Daily Allowance (DA) will be provided to candidates called
for tests, interviews, or upon commencement of employment.
10. During
the interview, candidates are required to bring the originals of their
educational and professional certificates.
